Dr. Alexandra Patton – Ph.D., MPH
Public Health Scientist and Aging-in-Place Advocate
Dr. Alexandra Patton is driven by a deep passion for helping others and improving the lives of older adults. With a Doctorate in Public Health Sciences from UNC Charlotte and a Master’s in Health Behavior from East Carolina University, Alex has dedicated her career to promoting health, independence, and well-being in communities. Her background in public health equips her to understand the unique challenges faced by aging populations, and she is committed to creating solutions that enhance their quality of life. At Upfit Homes, Alex combines her expertise with her compassionate approach to ensure every client feels supported and empowered. Her dedication to accessibility and thoughtful design aligns with her mission to help individuals and families create safe, functional spaces where they can age comfortably and confidently in place.
J.R. Patton – M.S., CAPS
Gerontology Expert and Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist
J.R. Patton combines years of hands-on construction and remodeling experience with advanced expertise in gerontology to deliver thoughtful, client-focused solutions at Upfit Homes. With a Master’s degree in Applied Gerontology from the University of North Carolina Wilmington and a CAPS (Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist) designation, J.R. leverages his deep understanding of aging-related needs to create functional, accessible, and beautiful living spaces. His background in project management, business development, and custom home modifications equips him to guide clients seamlessly through the process of transforming their homes into spaces that support safety, independence, and long-term comfort.
